Rabbi Kantor, your phone call had me rushing like a child. I held my new gift of Tefillin and I blushed. We donned it together slowly, carefully with your mentoring many subtle aspects. I listened as my heart pounded. I felt the touch of those far away, that I do not even know, as well as those close by. I deeply felt those who reached out to meet me at this juncture.
I thought what is a gift to me? What is this gift to me? And a rush of feelings. It is a new beginning with planned intent, full of hope, full of love. What are these leather straps and sacred scrolls? A binding of Hashem and His Name to my body, mind and soul for my life evermore. So what is this gift to me? A bond of strength and love with those souls that have reached my soul, through His service. I have many to thank and I hope I can reach the ears and hearts of those who are a part and return news of my joy. I will always cherish these Tefillin, especially as it ties me to all of you.
